Prague news:
Yesterday a winner was chosen in the architectural competition on the future of Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas Square) in Prague. The winning entry proposed the following changes to the square:
· pedestrian only; no cars at all
· a possible return of trams to the square
· a second row of trees up and down each side of the square
· the highway to be redirected behind the museum (and thus removed from the square)
· underground parking garages
· fewer kiosks on the square
The city expects to be able to realise improvements on the bottom of the square within 3 to 4 years, but work on the top of the square will not start for at least 5 to 6 years, and will be dependent upon the highway being moved and underground parking garages being built.

Did they propose to add more security seeing as this square is THE place to have a phone ripped from your hand/ear as you are talking on it, or a handbag?
I like the beer gardens and kiosks, that way if you run out of ciggies or a magazine, or need to pick up flowers on your way to a date at the lucerna cafe, you can do so from a kiosk near by.
It was an architectural competition, you blond weird. However, in other news, Prague Mayor Pavel Bem has vowed to clean up the city and crack down on crime, graffiti, prostitution, etc.
And...can this architect not include security?
