The Enlightenment made explicit what had long been implicit in the intellectual life of Europe: the belief that rational inquiry leads to objective truth. Even those Enlightenment thinkers who distrusted reason…never relinquished their confidence in rational argument…For the ensuing 200 years, reason retained its position as the arbiter of truth and the foundation of objective knowledge…But reason is now on the retreat, both as an ideal and as a reality. - Roger Scruton, 1999

Stairs, I just realised that you were absolutely right, that "gays" looked awful, so I have changed it to "the gays" with which I am much happier. I will consider using "poofs" next time.
I hope you are recovering well from your surgery. Enjoy the morphine in the meantime.

I had a huge bedtime conversation last night with my bi friend who is attracted to men but is currenlty in a monogamous relationship with a women, about being bisexual. What does it mean and how can you be into both in terms of a monogamous relationship. I decided to drop it because it was confusing.
I think I recently met a transgender person. I don't understand that either. I am trying to by reading and talking to people who know more about it.
This is all coming up because I am doing some PR for an organization which gives community support to marginalized youth.
